APPEAL FOR SUPPORT FOR A TRAINING PROGRAMME

FOR OUR HOUSE-MOTHERS AND CHILD CARERS

£55.00 is all it takes to provide a five-day training module for one of the dedicated House Mothers and Carers who care for our children at Clouds.

Are you prepared to sponsor one of these women who dedicate their lives to our children?

Why do we need this funding?

The House-Mothers who care for the children at Clouds of Hope are women who come from the local community. They have been carefully chosen for their warm hearts and ability to provide loving care and attention to children who come from difficult backgrounds. They have also been chosen for their potential, and their practical ability to cope with the daily tasks involved in caring for eight children at a time; any parent can relate to this. We also have Relief Mothers, and Outreach Workers who help children in need in our community.

The need for formal training is clear – we must ensure that these wonderful women are able to respond to the needs of the children as they grow and progress so they can help them reach their full potential.

How will we provide the training?

The National Association of Child Care Workers can provide low-cost training fully recognised by the Social Welfare authorities. The training consists of five five-day modules presented at three-month intervals, culminating in recognised qualifications. Each module costs £55.00 per person, we have 20 staff members in need of this training, and we need help in raising the funds to provide it.

This training will ensure that our care workers are competent in key concepts of child and youth care, that they understand their self-development responsibilities and the basic philosophical, ethical and legal frameworks required, as well as the concept of programming within the context of the care that they provide. It is vitally important.

CLOUDS OF HOPE CHILDREN’S CARE CENTRE IS LOVINGLY CARING FOR 80 RESIDENT CHILDREN ORPHANED OR ABANDONED DUE TO HIV/AIDS.

IN ADDITION WE MANAGE A FEEDING SCHEME FOR 200 CHILDREN EVERY DAY OF THE YEAR IN OUR LOCAL COMMUNITIES AND WE HELP AND SUPPORT THESE CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES WITHIN THE LIMITS OF OUR MEANS
